How Do You Prepare Your House For Sale Guide

August 21, 2017 By Kim Adamof

My Triangle Homes how do you prepare your house for saleMany people are not sure where to begin when preparing a home to go on the market. The fundamental question is how do you prepare your house for sale. Read on for some tips to get you started.

The first thing you must pay attention to is safety. It should be your top priority throughout this process. Making sure that your house is safe for viewings and any customers who may be visiting as well as your family.

Creating an inviting and open space is very important. It can assist potential buyers to envision themselves in the home.
Neutral and attractive color schemes make a lot of sense. While adding some color can help to make the space warmer and inviting, it is good not to go overboard. Very bold or individualistic styles can put buyers off who might not share your taste.

There are lots of ways to achieve this look. For example, you might introduce color in subtle notes. Some examples are brightly colored cushions or rugs to add interest and excitement. Another opportunity is in textiles such as throws and bed covers.

Clearing the space of clutter is crucial to showing off the space available in any room. There are many cost effective ways of doing this. For instance, kids toys and other items may be stored neatly in safe and attractive caddies.

You may also wish to consider doing a thorough clean out since selling your house is a good reason to declutter your life.  Get rid of items you “discover” while going through closets and drawers.  If you didn’t remember having it, you don’t need it – so get rid of it. Some sellers opt to rent storage units for items that they want to hold on to but do not wish to keep around the house, such as musical instruments, record collections or other large equipment.
