Tips On How To Stage A House To Sell

February 21, 2017 By Kim Adamof

The real estate market is filled with homes ready to find new owners. That means to get ahead of the competition; one must their house stand out from the rest, making it more desirable to potential buyers. Knowing how to stage a house to sell can be just the thing that helps an interested person decide that this is where they want to live.

When a person can envision themselves living inside a home, they are more likely to feel drawn to it. Staging is the method by which a seller achieves this goal. There are certain details, both large and small, that could make a difference in how fast the property sells.

First Impressions Selling Raleigh Home

The first impression of a particular property for a potential buyer is their initial look at the exterior. The key is to make it look inviting, simple, and clean. Making sure the lawn is kept up, walkways cleaned and repaired, siding washed or painted if needed, landscaping, and removing personal items such as toys and decor, can give a person inspiration to personalize it.

On the inside, the first step is to bring the space down to a bare minimum of furniture and decor. All personal items, such as photos and souvenirs, should be removed from the premises. This clean look gives people the chance to envision a room with their belongings in it.

When preparing for sale, all repairs need to be done. These repairs include tasks that span the range from replacing knobs on drawers, and fixing leaky pipes, to patching holes in walls and doors. Updating the paint on walls that are looking old or dingy can also be a way to catch a buyer’s eye.

Although some of the steps involved in staging may seem insignificant or troublesome, they can make a big difference in making a sale. Try to look at the home with fresh eyes. People want to get impressions of how it could be, but even more so, they want to be able to see themselves living there.
