How to Sell Your House in a Slow Economy

January 30, 2017 By Kim Adamof

MyTriangleHomes Sell a home in slow economyIt is the start of the year, almost everyone wishes to start the New Year fresh, and this includes a new home. However, how do you sell your home when the economy is on a low? This article would provide you with innovative ways to sell your home even with the state of the economy and not just sell your home; it would teach you how to sell it very fast.

Give the Buyer Extra Incentives to Buy

Everybody loves getting free things. If you were offered two homes with the same specifications but one came with a free kitchen cabinet or an offer to replace the carpet in the living room free, which would you prefer? Your guess is as good as mine is. Offer buyers meaningful incentives like proposing to help them repaint for free or offer to leave the kitchen fittings for free. Just be sure you do not turn your incentive into a loss. Make sure the incentive you are offering does not have any meaningful impact on the profit to be accrued from the sale of your home.

Undercut the Market

Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, Undercut the market if you want to sell your home very fast. You may wonder why you need to make less to sell your home quickly. By taking a few dollars off the market price, you can still make a decent profit. Say the market value of your home is $12,000; you could easily list it for $11,800 and make a quick sale. The $200 less than the market value will increase your chances of selling your home faster while at the same time ensuring your sale does not end in a loss.

Offer a Buyer’s Home Warranty

Offering customers a money back guarantee will help to skyrocket your sale chances. On the other side of the coin, providing a warranty can be a major disaster if not carried out properly. To avoid this ugly occurrence, ensure the both parties clearly understand the terms and conditions under which the warranty applies. You should ensure the agreement is notarized to prevent any future complacencies.

Using these recommendations may be just the right incentive for the right buyer.  The extras you can add make your property stand out from the others on the market, and when the market is slow, that is an advantage.
