Deciding to Buy | Preparing to Buy | Choosing a Realtor® | Time to Go Shopping | Due Diligence | Moving In |
Once you have all the preparations out of the way, it’s time to find the right home for you and your family.
Take a Drive.
Get to know the neighborhoods, subdivisions, and area. Drive around and get a feel for what it would be like to own a property in the area. Doing research online can help you get a sense of the properties available in those areas. Be careful of online sites stating specific property values instead of actual list price of the home. Algorithms are have not caught up to experience quite yet when it comes to knowing an area and home values.
Narrow Your Search.
Select a few properties that interest you the most after driving by to review the neighbors as well as the entire neighborhood. Work with your buyer’s agent to plan time to take a private tour of each home. Your Realtor® can provide you with the potential long term resale value of these homes and their professional opinion on property values in and around the subdivision, or area.
Time to Buy.
Once you have selected the home you want to make an offer on, your Realtor® can help you with strategy for the best possible outcome — the seller accepts your offer. Your Realtor® will investigate the potential costs and expenses associated with this property, as well as draft your offer in a way that gives you the advantage over another offer.
